Diversity Library
The second piece of our program provides classrooms with carefully selected books, which have been cataloged with input from educators and academic professionals, that present culturally rich and engaging stories of diverse communities. Our collection includes titles such as Stella by Starlight by Sharon M. Draper and Shooting Kabul by N. H. Senzai. As is with the rest of our box, the books are provided at no cost.
WE SUPPLY EACH CLASSROOM WITH TEN BOOKS FOR STUDENTS TO FURTHER EXPLORE THEMES OF DIVERSITY AND TOLERANCE, GIVING CLASSES THE RESOURCES TO BUILD A MORE INCLUSIVE ARRAY OF LITERATURE.
Our catalog provides summaries of each book found in the box, along with the F&P Text Level Gradient. The levels range from U - Z+ (fifth grade to young adult) and often communicate powerful themes through understandable characters and context.
